Our Samaj held the 2008 Sports Day on Sunday 15th June at Parklands Leisure Centre in Oadby , Leicester. A number of participants played badminton and there were three 5 a-side football teams. The winner of the football tournament (Team A) will now go forward to represent our Samaj at the London Mela on 29th June 2008 organised by the Bardai Brahmin Samaj London. Our Samaj wishes them good luck!
A trophy will be awarded to Team A for winning this years Sports Day 5-aside football, and medals will be awarded for each of the players in the winning team.
All those attending the Sports Day this year enjoyed the day, and it is hoped that badminton and football activities will be played on a monthly basis, for all age members to enjoy! The Sports Day now itself stands to be an annual event for our Samaj Diary.
